MASH Star of Safety Excellence in Healthcare
As the industry-based safety program for health care, MASH is pleased to present the Star of Safety Excellence in Healthcare award. This award is for individuals who have shown leadership and commitment for safety and health program initiatives in the workplace and who inspire others to make workplace safety a priority and is open to all healthcare workers in Manitoba. Nominations can be submitted by clicking HERE. Recipients are presented with the award at THE SAFETY’s Gala & Awards celebration.
Criteria:
Individuals must work for a healthcare organization which is Safe Work Certified or actively working towards certification.
To be eligible, individuals must have successfully completed one MASH training course. Course suggestions include but not limited to:
Maintenance Auditor Training
Principles of Safety and Health Management Systems
Safety and Health Leadership
Workplace Safety and Health Committee and Representative
Candidates must also be involved with the workplace Safety and Health Committee (e.g. as a member or as a resource to the committee).
Process:
Present the nomination committee with the initiatives or actions the individuals have done in relation to leading safety initiatives. The Nomination committee selects one individual to receive the MASH Star of Safety Excellence.
Award:
Individuals will be presented with an award at the annual Safety Gala. Individuals will be required to do a video about their safety initiative or what safety in the workplace means to them.
