On October 8th, 2024, River Park Gardens, a personal care home in Winnipeg, achieved its SAFE Work certification, marking a significant milestone in workplace safety. The certification reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering a safe environment for both staff and residents.
“We are pleased to have worked alongside MASH in becoming SAFE Work certified. This achievement occurred as a result of the dedication and commitment of the River Park Gardens team in partnership with the support and guidance from MASH,” said Shelley Demski, Executive Director of Clinical Services at River Park Gardens, and Alison Anderson, Manager of Health Services. “This work has enabled and empowered our employees to foster a culture of ownership and accountability in creating and maintaining a safe work environment for themselves and their colleagues.”
The certification process involved implementing new safety measures, enhancing training, and undergoing a comprehensive safety audit. The initiative also served as an opportunity to advance workplace efficiencies and demonstrate leadership in quality initiatives.
As safety leaders, River Park Gardens is committed to modelling best practices in creating a safe and caring work environment.
